Ashley and Sam are the sweetest couple from Dallas, and they recently moved into their first home together, a gorgeous apartment with a bunch of luxurious amenities. When Ashley found me via Pinterest, she had a great sense of her personal design aesthetic–feminine, colorful, and glam– but Sam’s was much darker, modern, and more masculine. Ashley knew they needed help combining their two styles into a mix of Masculine Glam, and when we chatted on the phone, there was an instant connection that made working with her a blast. I love that eDesign allowed me to help them out even though they’re at a distance! We worked on four different spaces in their new home, but the focus here is their masculine glam bedroom.

Because they looped me in early on, I was able to help Ashley and Sam figure out which furniture and accessories to keep and what to donate or sell. Their masculine glam bedroom was basically designed from scratch, except for the large piece of art they wanted over their bed an an existing large black mirror. After a bit of back and forth with the concept board, everyone agreed on a large upholstered bed, sleek modern nightstands, a modern shagreen dresser, and neutral white bedding.
Shop the Masculine Glam Bedroom Look:
- Grey upholstered bed
- Nightstands (no longer available – similar here)
- Duvet cover
- Three euro shams
- Black and white ticking stripe pillows
- Teal Opalhouse lumbar pillow
- Brass lamps
- Neutral area rug
- CB2 shagreen dresser
- Large black floor mirror
We stayed with clean lined furniture to suit Sam’s more modern tastes, but the tufted headboard and hints of brass in the accessories and furniture legs subtly nod to Ashley’s feminine glam aesthetic.
There was some debate about one nightstand or two because of the wall that juts into the room a bit, but we finally decided to utilize two slim profile side tables so both Sam and Ashley have a space to set their things. One of my personal design pet peeves is not having anywhere to place my glasses at night, because I’m blinder than a bat without them, and if I can’t find them in the morning, mild panic may ensue. So I was glad to prevent that same situation for this sweet couple. 😉
After finalizing the concept board and floor plan, I got to render Ashley and Sam’s masculine glam bedroom. Clients love this stage, because it lets them visualize what their space will look like once they buy all of the recommended items, but they still have the flexibility to move slowly and purchase as their budget allows.
Blending styles can be tricky, but we ended up with a masculine glam bedroom eDesign that both Ashley and Sam love. Stay tuned to see how we merged their two very different design styles in their den and open concept living space!

Great blog post! I’m sure they were relieved having you help blend their styles. It really came out beautifully!
Thanks! It’s nice to have a neutral third party help with those things sometimes!
