I’m normally not such a procrastinator, but I still haven’t really started on the One Room Challenge! If you’re new around here, the One Room Challenge is a quick turnaround design challenge in which hundreds of designers/bloggers redesign one room in their home over six weeks. Linda from Calling It Home and Better Homes and Gardens host this challenge twice a year, in the fall and the spring. I did the last challenge and completed Arabella’s modern European bedroom, and a few years back in the fall I decorated our master suite in our old house. The only thing I’ve done this time around is purchased paint and materials for the loft bed I’m building Kaden. And I made a couple of cuts on the 12 and 16 foot 2×6’s so I could actually carry them into Kaden’s room, but that doesn’t feel like it counts as starting.
Since I don’t have much to update you on today, I’m going to share the renders I did when trying to figure out Kaden’s room layout. You can read about my plans here. There are a lot of gaps that need to be filled in, but this gives you the general idea of what we’re going for.
The mural and the loft are the two defining elements of the space, and they are both major DIY projects I may or may not be fully equipped to handle…
These 3D renders make it so easy to visualize how the final space will look.
I can usually imagine the end result, but even with that ability, I love to see the visible evidence of a good design plan.
Well, I need to go get to work painting, so I’m going to keep it short and sweet today! Don’t forget to check out the other One Room Challenge spaces so you can follow along with all of the amazing designs!
